Description
This shawl will introduce makers to entrelac square formations and how to increase them to make a curved shape.

It is adaptable to any yarn and hook size and can be made as wide or narrow as the maker chooses – the inside curve of the pattern sample measures 185cm. It will look equally great all in one colour or several. Have some fun with your yarn stash and make something interesting and functional.

Part of the Tessellate Me pattern series by Abbeymade (#2).

Materials
Yarns
Fingering weight yarns in two contrasting colours.
The prototype used Alpaca Yarns New Zealand, Fusion Sulco, fingering weight 50% baby alpaca, 50% lyocell (wood pulp). (50g=175m) 6 balls. 3 balls each of 2 colours. About 2.85 balls of each colour was used.
This pattern doesn’t restrict you to fibre type, weight or even yardage. This is because you can make the shawl as long as you want to. The sample was made in fingering weight (Australian 4ply yarn) but the shawl would be extra snuggly in a DK (Australian 8ply yarn) or heavier if desired. If you want to use DK yarn, try first with an 8mm hook.
Hooks
5.5mm crochet hook - needs to be long enough to fit 10 loops on the hook at the same time. A standard hook without an ergonomic handle works best, or a special tunisian hook can be used as well.
