She has a big head for 9 months (it's almost 18") and I used a thinner worsted cotton, so I followed increases as written, and used yarn under technique for a tighter stitch... I omitted 2 rounds of the height and added another round to the brim (inc, sc in 13)
Yarn: Premier Just Cotton Marl in Turquoise Marl (104yds per skein, I used exactly 1 skein)
Hook: H/8/5.00mm Furls Odyssey
Gauge: 17sts x 16 rnds = 4"
Top diameter is 5½"; sides are 2" high; brim is almost 1½"
