I used a 6mm hook with my bernat blanket yarn and he certainly fits his name well :)
The pattern is fun to make and the techniques used throughout ir to shape our big guy are very neat. I found myself thinking of just how much effort it took to create.
I can't say the pattern isn't hard here and there, but the instructions and photos are quite thorough, which is a huge help!
Overall, I would definitely recommend making your own :)
