Latest noteProgressDateNov 10, 2023ProjectMood😊I have finished my beanie. While it was a cute concept I had some issues with the patter.
Hat Body: The ch/hdc of 12 was not nearly enough. I upped mine to 15 and looking back I probably should have done at least 20 for an adult head. The pattern that did emerge from the HDC was very cute though.
Seam: I feel the instructions could be written better. For a beginner it might be confusing but I figured it out.
Hat Crown: I'm not sure how the 12 sc were supposed to make it around. Since I made my body about 30 rows, I needed a lot more sc. I didn't follow the pattern for this. I made 2 rounds sc, then started a {sc,dec} pattern until my hole was all but closed.
Brim: I ended up doing 3 rows around to make it a little longer to cover some of my ears. I personally didn't test it on my head before finishing. That's what I get for doing something else while making this. It was a little tight on my head at the brim, but that was my fault for not testing.
If I make this again I will be making the body much longer so that it covers my ears. I personally don't like wearing a hat like this if it doesn't keep my ears warm.
Thank you for the opportunity to test this pattern. I like doing these to work on my skills. I am still a beginner and working on my confidence.
